Note to the Reader – A Philosophy of Sorts
In this blog, I’m just calling it like I see it, based on a lifetime of thought and study and trying to take a hard and honest look at the world: inclusive of the environment and nature; as well as our culture, economies, and civilization. I aim to look at realities and the facts and then draw some conclusions.
As the title of this blog implies, I expect that many who read this will find the ideas and concepts explored herein challenging and even uncomfortable. That is my goal, but obviously this is not compulsory reading. If you do not like it, then you don’t have to read it. Of course I hope that you do read it, and if you do, I further hope that it provokes thought and challenges your beliefs, your assumptions, your world view, and sparks conversation. I do appreciate passionate people. That being said I feel like I should say something about a code of conduct…
A Code of Civil Conduct:
To you: I pledge to you to be as brutally honest and open as possible.
In return, I ask: Don’t flame me, or anyone else for that matter. You may challenge my ideas, and you may constructively critique and debate them. But ad hominem attacks are unwelcome. It is a poor strategy anyway; attacking a person as opposed to challenging their ideas or concepts is a sure sign of a weak position and it belies a poorly founded argument.
So in short, I will moderate the comments. I am fine with comments that espouse ideas that run contrary to mine. Constructive discourse is healthy. But I will not tolerate intolerance, personal attacks, pettiness, closed-mindedness, commercial endorsements, or topics that run counter to the theme of the blog.
